Since the construction in 2008, the Research Center for Particle Science and Technology has become a major center for research and education, with a complete training system and various research projects in theoretical particle physics, experimental particle physics, and particle irradiation. For the theoretical research, the focus is mainly on Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) theory and its application in hadron structure. For the experimental particle physics, the center plays a pivotal role in many international collaborations, including LHC-ATLAS, RHIC-STAR, BEPC-BESIII, Daya Bay, PandaX, LHAASO, and NICA-MPD, especially in the development of hardware and software. Last but not least, the center also has active particle irradiation research, which mostly looks at how irradiation technology can be used in functional materials. Over the past years, the center has built partnerships with many leading research institutions across the world for both joint research and training. Its global partners include CERN, BNL, Jefferson Lab, and JINR.
