The Institute of molecular science and engineering is a high-level scientific research unit newly established in Qingdao Campus of Shandong University by introducing outstanding talents in 2018. The research institute has rich research resources, location advantages and development advantages of blue valley, Jimo district and Qingdao city. It pays attention to solving the problems of chemistry and related environment, materials and life sciences with the theory and knowledge of molecular level. At the same time, it is based on the research, development and industrialization needs of new functional chemical products that need to be developed urgently in China.
Based on the principle of "focus on high-end, cluster development", the Institute of molecular science and engineering aims to build a high-level scientific research team, cultivate and gather high-level scientific research talents and carry out innovative research. At present, there are more than 20 faculty members, including 3 winners of the national outstanding youth fund, 1 chief of the national key R & D program, 3 winners of the National Excellent Youth Fund, 2 Taishan Scholars in Shandong Province, 2 distinguished professors of Qilu young scholars, and a large number of young backbone talents and master and doctoral postgraduates.
In terms of graduate level education, the Institute of molecular science and Engineering covers two disciplines of chemistry and physics, with two first-class disciplines of chemistry and physics, five second-class disciplines of doctoral degree authorization, and five disciplines of master's degree authorization. It focuses on interdisciplinary and scientific frontier, and focuses on clean energy materials and medical health materials and other cutting-edge fields, carry out high-level basic research and innovative application research, and then cultivate excellent graduate students with world-class academic level, forming a complete high-level talent training system.
